Hey there! :hello:

I'm going to buy a new PC in about a month and I'm going to build it myself, this is going to be my first build so I don't know how good will it be, I'm going to use it for gaming.

Here are the Specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 560 3.3GHz Black Edition
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 Socket AM3+
GPU: SAPPHIRE HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB GDDR5
RAM: 2 x Patriot Signature Line 4GB DDR3 1333 CL9
Case: Thermaltake Commander MS-I Mid Tower Desktop Case
PSU: CORSAIR CX500 V2 80 PLUS PSU

Please tell me if I need to change anything or the entire thing.

Note: I'm going to unlock the CPU into a Phenom II X4 B60.

You can't rely on unlocking the CPU.

^+1 - what's your overall budget?

AMD's had a tendency to physically damage (not just lock) the extra cores on their chips lately to prevent unlocking.

Change this build to a h61 mobo and a I3 2130/2120/2100 and you have a much better gaming PC for virtually the same price.

So will changing the CPU to Intel Core i3 2120 and the MoBo to ASRock H77 Pro4/MVP be better?
but what about the four cores I get to unlock with th X2 560?

And if you get one of the newer ones that AMD blew out with a laser to prevent unlocking and are stuck with the X2?

(Or even an earlier one that was binned as an X2 because the extra cores actually were bad)
