Hi tom members!

I'm new here, i just like to ask something and i dnt know if this is just a stupid question:

Does it depend on how big your monitor for the GPU memory to handle?

The size of the monitor doesn't matter - it's the monitor's resolution that matters. A monitor with a higher resolution will require more GPU memory.

Of Course, for 1080P resolutions you need at least 1 GB of VRAM if you're going to play intensive games, for higher resolutions such as 2560 x 1600 you need higher VRAM (2GB or more).

The higher the resolution in games, the more VRAM there should be since more textures & packs need to be loaded.
However some cards are not powerful enough to use the extra VRAM, for eg. There's no difference between HD 5670 512 MB and HD 5670 1 GB.
