Hello,

I'm in the market of upgrading my video card and possibly ram. The one question I have is I need to know if my system can handle this upgrade that I want to get.

I wan to upgrade my card probably to a Radeon 6950

My main concern is do I have a large enough power supply ??? I'm pretty sure everything else is compatible any input would be appreciated!

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 EVO
Cpu: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
HDD: 2 basic old SD adaptered harddrives (LOL)
RAM: Kingston PC3-10600 DDR3 (2X4GB)
Current video card: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS
Current PSU: Corsair 500W

it's all about the amperage. 34amps might be pushing it but it may be fine. only one way to find out. I have some power supplies that are rated "weak" and run more than they should without problems or heat.

the video card. I have the XFX with the single fan. Runs rather warm. I just purchased the new Sapphire and it runs well and it also gives more FPS than my old one........... last time I priced it it was 229.... don't know what it is now.
