about 6 months ago, i built a budget gaming pc that costed approximately $800. Now i have some money and i want to do some upgrades. I have some ideas in mind but the problem is that i cant buy everything in bult. I can spend about 200-300 now, 500 in october and another 500 and christmas. I know with this kind of money its not really an upgrade as it is a new build but i still like to consider it upgrading. I need some help to figure out the best way to buy everything.

Current Specs-

CPU - AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz
MOBO - ASRock M3A770DE AM3 AMD 770 ATX
Video Card - SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6850 1GB
Sound Card - Creative Sound Blaster Recon3d Fatal1ty Professional
Case - HEC Blitz Black Steel Edition
HDD - SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB 7200 RPM
PSU - Antec EarthWatts EA-500D Green 500W
RAM - Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 4GB

Upgrades(What im thinking so far)-

CPU - Intel i5 2500k
MOBO - no idea
Video Card - im thinking of going with 680 so i can upgrade later
Case - nzxt phantom atx full tower???
HDD - maybe a couple SSD?
PSU - no idea
RAM - at least 8gb

thanks for all the help in advance!

Hi.

I suggest wait it out untill you get all the money saved up. Then you can consider these specs which i have listed in another post. Which will be around your budget. And will certainly give you good performance on all games.

Its also good to see your moving from AMD to Intel. The specs in the link are probably what you want. If you want a better GPU then when it comes time to upgrade, sell your current rig. Which will give you atleast another $400-450.

Hope i helped.
