I currently own a TR2 600w that has worked fine for almost a year, but I've read a lot of reviews of people who bought it and then had their system fried after a year or so. I'm considering to replace it with a Corsair PSU (The Antect High Current and Neo Eco are out of stock where I live), but I'm not sure about the quality of the CX series.

Anyway, do you think I should be worried at all about my current PSU blowing up in the future? I'm not gonna overclock (I own a i3 2100) and I only have 1 hardrive and 2 case fans running.

More about : corsair 500w 660

The CX is a decent line. Not as good as the HCG/Neo ecos or any good seasonic / delta / cwt based unit but it will do it's job and hold its rating.

It'll have no problems running a 660 ti.

What about the tr2 600w? It's the model made by HEC, and from what I've read in other communities they make so-so supplies. I'd like to think that I won't need to get a better quality one unless I'm planning to SLI or overclock a quad core.

btw I'm getting the GTX 660, not the ti model.

Who's the maker of the GX? I can't find anymore the thread where someone linked to a list of power supplies and what platform they were built on.

btw the corsair is not v2. Are V1 worse or actually better? In a review site the GX v1 got a 9 in build quality while the v2 got a 7.

The V1 were Seasonic-built, MUCH better than the V2. According to information in this thread: http://forums.hardwaresecrets.com/not-so-tough/8805?thr... the V2 is built with a line of Samxon capacitors known to fail miserably. I was on the fence about the V2 until I read that; now I would not touch one.

They were? I read somewhere that V1 also had Samxon capacitors :/

Why would you a jonnyguru review give it a 9 if it had samxon caps and wasn't seasonic but CWT?

The price - Under $50 retail. I figure the reviewers don't expect to find hi quality Japanese capacitors on
a PSU retailing under $50.

Actually on the 750 & 850w models, the v2 were Seasonic built. Also, on those 2 Seasonic built v2's
105C Japanese capacitors are used.
