How does these look?
Is it just overkill?

I'm planning on doing some multitasks, get ready for future (by the time i actually save up for it, as i already built a comp a month ago, it won't look as overkill plus the prices will be lower), and sandbox multiple number of games. my current i5 3570k @ what i think is a 4.0 OC (not quite sure if i OC'd it by changing the multiplier to x40) is able to run 4 of the game in sandbox without stuttering. Plus I'd like to actually play battlefield3 and other of these high end games with ease and without worry of anything. Plus the bragging rights.. such as on youtube.. teehee

And without any other pauses... La List + Prices

1: the 3930k is the same thing with less cache(it wont matter)
2:the hyper 212 looks wimpy against sandy bridge e. get something like a h100 or a noctua nh-d14 se2011(a lot of people dont like the colour)
3: get ares ram. they look better and are more low profile
4: 690 is awesome but getting 2 680s is faster. id suggest the evga ftw edition or the evga classified edition
5:you only need 1000w to run triple graphics. nevertheless, the seasonic model is better as it has hybird fan technology
6:for the drives since you are going all out, get either a intel 520 240gb, sandisk extreme, or mushkin chronos deluxe
7: get plain old caviar black drives as they are faster
8:usually the haf x has enough fans so i wouldnt worry about cooling

You don't need speed for storage.

Spending $ cuz a budget allows isn't a good reason. I will only recommend Blacks when HDD prices stabilize.

1: the 3930k is the same thing with less cache(it wont matter)
it wont? but im planning on trying to run 8 of the same game using sandboxie while having opera browser, music, and other things running.
2:the hyper 212 looks wimpy against sandy bridge e. get something like a h100 or a noctua nh-d14 se2011(a lot of people dont like the colour)
i was thinking about the h100.. but i didnt want to introduce water to the system. as for the EVO, i currently have it on my i5 3570k and it seems to be doing a nice job. as for the noctua. yea theyre hideous. idk if the blue LEDs will make it look better or not. nor am i sure they'll be able to fit with the RAMs.
3: get ares ram. they look better and are more low profile
oh. im currently using corsair vengeance. i noticed my older computer that was built by a friend was a G.Skill but i was under the impression that only the Z series was compatible with 2011? Or am I completely wrong? It doesn't matter to me which one i get as long as it'll all be fitting with the cpu cooler that I end up with. These are all just brief list of some high end parts I chose out of the other high end ones. As the list does contain a RAM cooler (i was hoping to have the 2133MHz one of the OC'd RAMs)
4: 690 is awesome but getting 2 680s is faster. id suggest the evga ftw edition or the evga classified edition
yea i kno a 690 loses to a 2 680 SLI but maybe if I need that much more speed later on (year or two after the build happens), I could just Quad SLI up the 690 with another 690. Plus the 690 uses less Wattage along with creating less heat (?) or that's the impression I'm currently under.
5:you only need 1000w to run triple graphics. nevertheless, the seasonic model is better as it has hybird fan technology
Oh really? The 690 minimum wattage requirement is 650w and the SB-E said it takes around 200watt under load... or am I being completely misinformed about alot of these things. Only researched while I was at work. Plus the futureproof of adding another 690 in.. Didn't see any other 1000w that looked good.. My current rig is running the Corsair AX750 one.. so I figured maybe that'd be a good choice..
6:for the drives since you are going all out, get either a intel 520 240gb, sandisk extreme, or mushkin chronos deluxe
Are one of those three better than the 830 Series? Cuz I'm currently using a 830 Series for boot drive and I have absolutely no complaints. Plus they're almost a dollar per GB
7: get plain old caviar black drives as they are faster
I probably would be using my HDD for the storage of music files, video files, documents, pictures, etc So the faster doesn't really matter much to me. Unless HDD Prices go down alot by the time the list finalizes and my money savings reach the goal.
8:usually the haf x has enough fans so i wouldnt worry about cooling
That's why I'm going for the haf-x even tho its looks doesn't really satisfy me.

When it comes right down to it, the differences between the i7-3960X and the i7-3930K are 100MHz at stock speeds or around maybe 300MHz with a truly extreme overclock. If you need that extra 100MHz for bragging rights, it will cost you the extra $400. When it comes to an extreme overclock, I'm afraid that you'll have to set up some form of liquid-cooling, otherwise it will be hard to get any extra out of the 3960X that you couldn't get out of the 3930K.

For a big PSU, I'd suggest this: Seasonic 1000w 80 PLUS Platinum Certified
It covers just about anything you could put in a computer, I'd imagine, and does so with high efficiency and Seasonic quality.

The rest of your build is outside of my low-budget experience :)

they hyper will die from anything above 4.2ghz usually...

as long as they fit under the cooler, it works. high performance memory doesnt really impact system performance. i recommened ares ram since it looks cool and is low profile

1000w will acommidate quad sli with the 690s and snady bridge e. if you are really worried of it running out of juice, i would get this one.it is slightly better than the corsair ax1200

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

intel is much better than the samsung ones. id also suggest some toggle nand ssds since they will perform higher and have more write cycles

i would not recommend the seasonic platinum 1000w since it does have short cables so it would be harder to route
