Hi all,

I recently upgraded my operating system from Windows 98 to Windows XP Home
Edition. One strange problem I've had since the upgrade is that I now can't
get any sound from my Roland SC8850 sound module through my PC monitors. I
hear all other system sounds ok & CDs & MP3s play fine but nothing from my
SC8850.

I've had the SC8850's main L & R audio outputs connected to my PC's Line In
via an rca-to-small stereo jack-cable & this setup has worked fine until
now. The headphones output on the SC8850 seems to work fine but I now can't
hear any sound fgrom the SC8850 thru my montiors. Any ideas on how to
rectify this situation?

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Chris

Hi Chris,

Sounds like a config prob.

Click START>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Advanced (The top one in
the "Device Volume" section). This will get you to the volume pane.

Click the "Options" menu and check "Advanced" to reveal ALL audio input
devices and make sure that the "Mute" checkbox underneath "Auxiliary" is
unchecked.

You should be able to hear your SC8850 once this is done.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, I seemed to have solved the problem. The Line In was
muted somewhere along the chain.

Cheers,
Chris
