MIDDLE OF JULY?! That's a pretty long way away in the tech world!

Anyway, here's what I'd suggest (keep in mind w/out monitor/OS):

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($279.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($35.98 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($139.99 @ Microcenter)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($52.99 @ NCIX US)
Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Hard Drive: Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($132.99 @ B&H)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 680 2GB Video Card ($539.98 @ NCIX US)
Case: Corsair 400R ATX Mid Tower Case ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling 950W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($94.99 @ NCIX US)
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($16.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1463.88
(Prices include shipping and discounts when available.)

Now, there's enough power in that to power 3 680s... you can go with their 750W edition if you want. Now here's some other stuff to consider:

1) Switching the CPU to an IB i5-3570k
2) Switching the PSU to a 750W version
3) Switching the case to a Fractal R3, but keep in mind that that's for quiet... so it might get a little stuffy. If you want it to be quiet but not THAT quiet (so... a little quieter) you can look at the Corsair 550D or the Antec P280.

For some more quiet, you can look at getting some Noctua fans (140mm) for cooling. However, those are expensive. I'm personally looking at some Cougar "silent" fans.

Logic: I originally looked at the Nvidia GTX 470 however stock is slim (maybe better in July) so I went with the next best 'bang for your buck which is the HD7850. I got an 800 Watt PSU so a second one could be purchased for Crossfire. If you dropped the solid state drive or went to a 120GB one you would be able to purchase a 2nd HD 7850 and stay within your budget.

Two 7850s in crossfire would be a beast of a gaming rig.

I picked the XFX Double D model because the cooler keeps the thermals down and is very quiet.

The Evo CPU cooler will help keep the noise down too.

Thanks for the advice

@ the OP. You mentioned quiet and this case comes with a built in multi channel fan controller along with 200mm fan. Larger fan means lower RPM, more air and = quiet.
