First time builder, aesthetics-wise, the C70 kicks ass, but the 500R is on sale for 40$ less, plus it comes with a 200mm side fan.
The C70 has better cable routing, but the side panel is open air duct and really ugly, a lot of people are modding it. It's military style though and it's all steel.
On a side note, I can get a pirated copy of windows 7 ( like I always have since I was a kid, I know I'm bad) and save 100 so I can get a 680, should I?
