First time builder, aesthetics-wise, the C70 kicks ass, but the 500R is on sale for 40$ less, plus it comes with a 200mm side fan.
The C70 has better cable routing, but the side panel is open air duct and really ugly, a lot of people are modding it. It's military style though :) and it's all steel.
On a side note, I can get a pirated copy of windows 7 ( like I always have since I was a kid, I know I'm bad) and save 100 so I can get a 680, should I?

Solution
1.500R all the way
2.get a 670 and overclock it to a 680
3.680 is a waste of money
4.we dont take kindly to piraters :D
5.if you really want a 680 type card just get a 7970 or 7970Ghz because that card can overclock LIKE A BOSS
Get the case you prefer i think the 500R is better air flow wise other then that it's a flip of a coin IMHO also about the pirated copy of windows seven :non: do not admit or talk about that you will get into trouble its against forum rules! As for a 680 well if you're going to do that only one that i recommend is the Asus Top that being said it's only about a 7% to 8% performance gain since your aware of that and do not mind go for it to each his/her own.
