How to install Sil3114 with out raid

Hello,
I added dvd to my desk top. The dvd is sata cable so I used sil3114 to give me sata port on my desk top. When I power up desk top with dvd plug in to sata port it don't see my hard drve that is IDE. All I want to do is use 3114 plug in dvd.

Enter BIOS at boot and check that the HDD is still recognized as one of the IDE drives, and that it is the boot drive. The add-in card may have made some changes that tell the BIOS to look for a SATA HDD to boot from.
