Today i accidentally tripped over my headphone cable totally ripping it out of the headphone jack. The headphone connector on the headphone is crooked and the headphone jack is like very loose. When I plug in my headphones, my realtek HD audio monitor will show it as a MIC input, no headphones detected, or subwoofer. I do have my subwoofer, center, and line in plugged in on the back of my computer, which is directly into my sound card. When I plug in my headphones, sound can go through but the audio manager shows no headphones detected.
My question is can a broken case headphone jack mess up the sound card?

you can usually get front panel replacements from your case manufacturer in case you're wondering how to fix it.. also, you can turn off the front panel connectors in realtek if i remember correctly :)
