Pci-e 3.0 work with sandy bridge?

I have a 3.0 mobo sandy bridge cpu and a 3.0 video card would this work? I heard pci-e 3.0 is backward compatible

Yes it will work without any problem. No performance hit at all. Still to early for the PCIE to be well implemented.

Yes, its backwards compatible and depending on the card you use, you won't see a deficit.

Yes, it will work, but only in PCI-e 2.0 mode. Not a big deal since it will probably take another 2 years before very high end cards will be limited by PCI-e 2.0.

Yes it will but it doesn't really matter right now since programs don't even max out PCI-e 2.0 bandwith.
