Hello,

I just recently purchased a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo and successfully attached it on my local network, and created a few specific folders for my project requirements. I can ping the drive to the statuc IP I assigned it and I can \\nasname\sharename just fine. When I spoke to the pre sales people I asked specifically if it came with an image clone/partition software, they said yes(they were wrong). I know NAS drives come with this option, I have a Seagate BlackArmor NAS that did(that broke), and I wanted to confirm if the Netgear did as well. Anyway, the tech support line redirected me to this website http://www.readynas.com/?p=294. If you scroll down they're informing you and allowing you to buy Acronis to be installed as an add-on for the ReadyNAS.

I have tested Macrium Reflect and EASUS To-Do Backup free edition and was able to create the image partitions and save them on the ReadyNAS through the local network. However, EASUS cannot see anything under My Network Neighborhood. Macrium Reflect fails to connect after I populate the two box fields with my nasname \ sharename and adding in the login credentials. After a little research I saw that Macrium Reflect requires if using the Linux bootable cd that each device WORKGROUP be labeled as Workgroup(confirming these names didn't help). I cannot seem to create a BartPE disc using the Macrium Reflect BartPE Plug-in either. The only Windows XP Pro disc I have is a Dell royalty disc(OEM).

Either... what am I missing from a network perspective, do these programs not work correctly restoring over the network, and what other good FREE image partition software is available that is know to restore via a local network and not a local drive/usb drive/cd/dvd.

Thanks.
