But, as the previous poster said, why don't go for AMD. Way more bang
for the buck.

I just bought my first AMD (AMD 64 3100) and I can truly say I regret not
buying one sooner.

I have probably mentioned this before, but SharkyExtreme frequently
published buying guides for different price brackets, split into AMD and
Intel version. They have been useful to me in the past.
