Hi Folks,

This router was provided by Virgin Media. The router is called DGN1000 or DGN1000SP

My question is....

Will this router be able to work for another person who is on, say, BT or any other none-Virgin contract.

The reason why I ask is because I bought this router and I thought it would work for my internet connection. It won't, I think. I have a Cable connection but this is a ADSL mode/router combo.

Hard to say- some British ISPs, Sky for example, tie their routers in so you can't get online without their router and it's useless to anyone outside their network. Best to look in e-VBay to see if any are successfully being sold in the UK.

You should be able to use it as a wireless router by connecting it using the blue cable to the uplink port of your cable MODEM.
