Ok, so I saw the amazing price for the amd a8 5600k, and I thinking about getting it. It would be a huge upgrade from my terrible computer. Believe me, my computer will start lagging if I do something else while watching a youtube video, and I can't even play Minecraft with terrible lag on the LOWEST settings. So, I wanna know if the AMD A8-5600k can handle the following:
1. Run a Minecraft Server 24/7
2. Play Minecraft at the same time, probs medium settings.
3. And browse the internet.
4. (Optional) Convert a video to a different format.

So, my question is, will the AMD A8-5600k handle ALL of the above smoothly, without any lag? And remember, I may also play games like Team Fortress 2 or MW3 or BF2 or some other game other than Minecraft. Quickest reply will be appreciated :)

hey! ive got good news!

the A8 5600K will be able to handle your minecraft 24/7 server and while making other stuff..

http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/system-requirements-for-home-server.6691/

that forum i linked you is using the very ancient pentium 4 to do it.. so i am very sure the A8 can do it...

in addition to that, the A8 have some juice in making videos too!

hi there, get the A8 5600K, it can do your questions 1, 2, 3.

but question 4, will be a bit slower, because with it has a slow processor architechture. Nonetheless, it will get you there.

so, it is a SMOOTH budget solution for your questions on 1,2,3,4.

also, it can play Crysis Warhead, Skyrim, and Metro 2033 (both have high taxing graphic needs than TF2, MW3, and BF2. you will get 30 frame per second minimum, in
1366 x 768 resolution).

here are the benchmarks..

Thanks so much bro :). I forgot to mention one thing, so what if I run ANOTHER minecraft server at the same time, not doing number 4 but it's private, not 24/7, meant for recording youtube videos like lets play minecraft or adventure maps and stuff, and then I'll shut it off until the next video. So basically, I'm gonna run a second server (while running my 24/7 server) do browsing on the internet and record with fraps on minecraft, (NOT converting a video) (again, minecraft on medium settings) AND run skype with a voice call (duh, everyone wants to hear the players' voices during the gameplay or it would be a silent movie XD). So can the AMD A8-5600k handle that? Please answer fast :)

i am afraid that is very doubtful.

i havent tried running a 24/7 server and running another server on the a8 5600k,

my best bet is, it can run one server, and you can shoot videos, skype, etc.

but not while doing that and run a 24/7 server... it is just too taxing for the poor processor.. :(

I have no clue. The a-10 can handle anything the i3 can, though.

Two servers huh? Quad core would be better for servers regardless I would think. So trinity would be better, but maybe it won't matter.
