Ok so I am aiming to build a new Gaming PC mainly for playing games like Dota 2..

Now my problem is that the MOBO I am getting doesnt have a PCIe 2.0 slot - and the GPU is a PCIe 2.0. Here is my current build order:

MOBO: ASRock extreme3 gen3:: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271
CPU: i5-2500K :: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EBUXHQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
GPU: EVGA GTX 570 :: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EHZD5W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
PSU: Any affordable ~750 Watt PSU.
CASE: CM Scout
HDD: Any affordable 1TB HDD

Thats pretty much it.. But my problem is that the MOBO doesnt come with PCIe 2.0 slot only PCIe 3.0 and others.. So if i go with this build will my PC work fine?? also I read in some forums that i5-2500k doesnt support PCIe 3.0.. Is that true??? Please guide me if possible.. Thanks.

Also the ASRock pro3 gen3 is a consideration too since its around 20 bucks cheaper but it only has 1 slot for PCIe 3.0..

So what do you guys think about this build?? I am also open to recommendations so feel free to suggest or criticize.

Thanks Alot

What's your budget? Anyway, PCIe 3.0 means that it has more bandwidth. But the GPU only utilizes 2.0 (not even that). It's like having a road that's wider than your car. You can still go down the road, but your car doesn't use up the entire road. It doesn't need to.

What I'm saying is that PCIe 3.0 is the same as 2.0 for you. You're fine with your build... everything's fine in it. I'd like to know the budget so that I can try to pick parts more suited to your needs and budget. You're on a good start, though.
