Xbox Locks Up

Hi Gang,
I am new to the Xbox. I just got a brand-spanking new Xbox and various
games to go with it. All of the game work fine BUT one... Call of Duty.
I have only been playing the game about 3 hours and in that time it has
locked up 4 times. Each time it is the same; screen freezes and there is a
loud buzz/humming sound from the speakers. Nothing works to clear it except
turning off the xbox. This is very frustrating! It only happens with Call
of Duty, is there something wrong with this game?

Boy does that sound familiar.
Had the Same problem with halo 2.
Found that it was my Xbox going bad....
Had to have Micro$oft fix it.
I would say return Xbox for a new one.

either don't play call of duty or get the thing chipped..just because it
doesn't play 1 game does not mean that your Xbox if screwed

spend an extra £100 and get a bigger drive and a good chip (modd) X-Bit
works well this should solve most problems as you can then BACKUP all of
your games on the hard drive eliminating the need for disks..

you can play straight from the hard drive

networking the box also has its advantages for music and movies which you
can stream straight from ya comp..
hard link(nice long drop cable(rj-45) recommended due to wirless not having
the bandwidth...

i have two xboxes, one with thompson dvd and one with samsung and i have had
problems with COD also..... the game locks and freezes after playing a
bit...... it may only happen once every three days or so(even on samsung) i
also have vietcong purple haze, and only had problems with the problematic
thompson drive..... "Dirty disk error", on my samsung that game plays great!
check out activisons site, they even claim these lockups in COD as known
issues....... i have had graphic problems playing it offline, and these
issues are all listed on there site.
