XP net sucks

just wanna know how many have the same problem:

WindowsXP will just disconnect itself from the internet whenever the heck it feels like it, i have to go to internet connections and click fix connection.

it doesn't seem that bad but i play D2 all the time and whenever this happens i'll get smoked by some enemies then disconnect from battlenet, it takes like a minute to reconnection and chances are that i missed something important

it wouldn't be so bad but this happens like every 3 minutes!!!!

oh im sorry i should have clarified that,

im in 1.5mb DSL, it never disconnects on me. only WinXP disconnects on me

it's not my internet because this computer im on is in the corner of the living room, the TV is perpendicular to me about 4 feet behind me and my dad is looking straight at the TV from the couch while posting in financial forums (computer on the coffee table)

im sitting here just swearing up a storm because i have to click on fix connection all the time while he keeps clickin on links goin here and there postin this here and send that there. my internet is going down all the time but his is not, his computer is a Celeron 500 with Win98 SE. my puter is AthlonXP 1700+ with WinXP
his computer is on AutoIP
my puter is on manual IP (autoIP does not work on winXP)

I can't remember if this is the exact issue, but there's a problem with XP disconnecting from high speed internet service every couple hours. I installed a patch for this - I think I got it from Windows Update. I suggest you check that site.
