Building new PC....help me as I have no idea!!!!

Ok so I'm finally getting round to buying parts and making my own PC....I had enough with my laptop and I'm planning on settling down here in South Korea.

Approximate Purchase Date: Next month/month after

Budget Range: up to $1000 (1,000,000 KRW)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (Sc2, Diablo 3 etc), Web browsing, Movies and TV

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, Mouse, monitor (though will eventually buy a second monitor)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: http://twinscom.co.kr/main/ probably this site, but will also pop up to Yongsan to buy the parts from markets.

Country: South Korea

Parts Preferences: No idea, though will use a 24 inch monitor and a second monitor too.

Overclocking:Probably not

SLI or Crossfire:No idea

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200, but It won't annoy me if its lower as long as its wide screen

Additional Comments: Need to buy Windows 7 OS....appart from that nothing else :(

Thanks for any help guys <3 <3 <3

  1. Wait so you don't need a monitor or do you need one? Do you want use to find the second monitor?

I'll just put the parts names, as the site is Korean and even with Chrome's translator it's still hard.

    i5-3450 - $200
    2x4gb 1600mhz ram ddr3 - $45
atx size case - like $60
H77 motherboard, atx if you want more expansion slots, mATX if you don't need as many - $95-130
    550 watt power supply - $60
60/64gb SSD for windows and other important apps - $80
    1tb hard drive - $90
    Windows 7 - $100
    DVD drive - $20

Geforce GTX660: It's coming out soon and will probably be $200.

= $955 without taxes and shipping, including 660.

  2. Thanks dude ^^ I will be purchasing a second monitor later in the year, so just the ability to have a second monitor is a must :)

Would it be worth paying an extra $30 for the i5-3570k?
  3. If you're going to overclock: yes.

If you get the 3570k get a Z77 instead of a H77 and get a Cooler Master Hyper 212
  4. Is it worth overclocking? I know some of the pro's and cons but is it advised for a rookie builder?

Scratch that would rather not risk it...I'll go with the non-overclocked versions (for now) ^^

    Would this case work?

    http://blog.danawa.com/prod/?prod_c=1313963&cate_c1=861&cate_c2=879&cate_c3=990&cate_c4=&keyword=atx%20case
  5. Ugh the site gets so weird after translating lol...

Well, it looks fine and you can't really go wrong with a case if it fits everything.
