How do I hook my tv connections to my computer monitor to get reception?

My 3 year old 32" Vizio plasma just "died" and I'm trying to connect its connections from the cable box to my computer monitor to enable tv watching there.......can I do this?

Maybe. What output connections (VGA, HDMI) does the cable box support , and what input connections (VGA, DVI, HDMI) does your monitor support?
If they both support VGA, or if they both support HDMI, just connect a cable and you are home free. If the cable box has HDMI and the monitor supports DVI then you can purchase and adapter cable.
