January and Christmas Drop in Prices?

Being relatively new to this all I was wondering whether or not computer components usually drop in January sales in the United Kingdom?

Equally do they usually drop around Christmas time?

Not really you may get some bundle deals from some places. As to sales like anything it's generally the outdated cr@p or overstocks get put on sale.

I thought as much.

In a specific build I guess it is better to just plan around prices as they are now and go for it.

Exactly otherwise you can just constantly wait "new tech soon" or "prices should slide when company X release product Y", really unless you know something new and big is due immenently you may as well pull the trigger on whatever you plan.
