Mechanical Keyboard Discussion

I have stepped into the world of mechanical keyboards and my first experience is mixed.

I bought the black widow ultimate from Best buy (to try it out, most forums i read don't like razer)

Now after trying it out my thoughts are mixed, the responsiveness and feel is amazing compared to my old saitek,
but this keyboard is way too loud!

I have got a lot of help from the community of this forum over the passed few years, so here i am again asking for some good unbiased opinions on some different models of mechanical keyboards.

What i am looking for:

-Quieter keys (Mx Browns?)
-Must have number pad (seen some without)
-Palm rest please >.<

Features that are not a necessity:

-Backlit keys are nice
-Never really use media keys at all
-Macros (nice but most models like the blackwidow have the same annoying feature)

Don't want:
-Macros that are lined up and so close to the other keys. I understand its a relearning problem but i can't stand hitting the macros instead of shift or esc.
-Loud keys of course!


Don't really care about price (nothing outrageous) but availability is important (read about duckys and das keyboards and stuff) since i like to do most of my ordering from NewEgg.

So far i have looked at the k90, some Rosewill and the new logitech g710+ (i feel the macro issue is less apparent since they are further away from the keys)
