More about worth 3600 8320
  1. first thing i would do

    - upgrade video card

    - than add SSD

    - and lastly upgrade cpu if you feel it doesn't do what you want
  2. Have a sata3 intel ssd/450mb read, have a GeForce GTX550 Ti (1.5GB DDR3) sitting in a box, I have dual monitors and hdmi to my tv the gforce is 30% faster but is 2 mon max (despite the 3 connections in the back) so back in goes the amd driving 3 monitors no problem. I will end up with a complete 8gb/x4 955/gforce 550 system to ebay which will differ a big part of the 8320 costs..
  3. the 955 and 550ti sytem on ebay is worth very little.

Passmark is rubbish. 8320 would be an upgrade but unless you are only playing very CPU intensive games or have a top end Graphics Card (you don't) then there is little point to the upgrade really.
  4. Transcoding vid/photoshop editing are my toughest jobs and looking the benches I'm wondering if I'll even be able to tell? I choose the 970@3500 which should be similar to a 955 oc to 3600 and something I do all the time and phhtt...

    A 550/1.5 gb is worth $50 still (what I paid) the cheapest used x4 955 is $85 asus mobo $40 8 gb ddr2 $25 broken up @ 10% below lowest ebay = $180 or a new 8320..
  6. I was thinking the fx 83's were going to be the tipping point on the old x4's but I'm not seeing it ;-( I'm commited to the am3+ socket at this point and not seeing a $/perf upgrade anytime soon, amazing I had this 955 for 3 years my longest relationship with a cpu EVER..
