X264 normal profile fps for you? I'm getting 275fps on my current sys knowing what you get would help, trying to iso out the cpu (phen x4 955@3600mhz) so a 8320 with sata3 hd r120mbs/w100mbs ram 8gb 1600 ddr3 would be perfect.. thanks..

Yeah trying to decide if I'm upgrading, anyone using dlna to stream media locally needs to transcode any xvid's to x264/acc for them to work, makes a good real world benchmark..

Handbrake supports FMA3 instructions which were added by the Piledriver module.
Phenom II does not support FMA3.

You'll see a sizable speedup going to the 8320.

Multi-threaded stuff it wins hands down but single threaded it is pretty much a dead heat, I think overall user experience will be a tie and you save a few minutes on stuff that is usually kicked to the background, so if your're watching it transcode you will be happier that it is fast, less happy when you realize you have no life..
