Long story short, Im currently (and would like to continue) using a cooler master praetorian 730 case. I have a HD 6950 I was thinking of upgrading, but the card now sits roughly an inch max from the drive cages. I know for a fact the gtx 680 will fit as its shorter then the 6950 at 10 inches.

Wht Id love to know is anyone who has a sapphire dual x 7950 and 7970 how long is your card? Everytime I search online I get different answers. I really love to get an AMD again but if it they wont fit, I probably wont.

Reason being this case was my brothers and he passed away in 2009, so its my way of keeping him with as I build and or upgrade pc's.....he also taught me how to do it.

So please any help would be much appreciated.

Most sites will give the dimensions of the card in the details tab.

I think what happens is that the cooler fan/heatsink that is attached to the PCB is what makes the overall length of the cards different by how much it overhangs the end of the card. I think that the PCB is roughfly the same on all the cards and it's the cooler that causes the difference.
