New Gaming Pc Build

Budget Range: 1400 after rebate

I want a system that can play games like battlefield 3 with an average of 40fps and was wondering if this build could do it, i do not wish to overclock the pc or crossfire.
Intel Core i5 3550 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz 6MB 77W LGA 1155
GIGABYTE GA-Z77M-D3H INTEL Z77 DDR3 USB3.0 PCI-E3.0 LGA1155
HIS Radeon HD 6950 2gb GDDR5
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Unbuffered Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B)
RaidMax Atlas

I have a small monitor that i still wish to use for this pc, it is an AOC with a maximum resolution of 1024x768 and i am still figuring out what is the best psu for this build.

  1. Whats your budget for the rig and what parts do you need ? Read this http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261222-31-build-advice and fill it out, it will help the people trying to help you !!! :)
  2. Thanx for the quick reply, uhh my budget is around 1400 nzd
  3. All i can say is motherboards are a dime a dozen, depending on what features your looking for that will ultimately determine the price your going to pay, if all you want is basic I'd say go with anything from ASUS or ASrock, ASrock has had some pretty good recommendations from Toms. Like i said, its all up to what features you want on it like 1x PCI-E or 2x etc etc, if u don't care buy the cheapest one. :sol:
  4. Im lost with the psu i tried the online wattage calculator but too me it seems wrong
  5. Ok so 1400 New Zealand dollars = 1117.3400 US dollars

Not sure if the prices are the same there M8 but for 1100 US i would look at something like this

    MOBO CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.975453

    GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130782

    CASE RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.966138

    PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207013

    HDD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148697

    DVD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204

If you have it in the budget you can up the ram to 8 GB, If your going for a sli setup up the PSU to 750W and get a CPU Cooler if you like to OC

This build was 1,025.92 US + tax and shipping

Not sure what store you have over there M8 sorry
  6. That build looks awesome but sadly we have limited stuff down here :( the only good stuff i can find is what i posted at the top, its just that im lost with the psu, is a 650 watt good enough?
  7. For that GPU and and setup a GOOD QL 550W PSU will be more then good ( For a Single GPU rig ) and it looks like that mobo only has 1 PCI E 3.0 so you will be good
  8. post some PSU you can get down there
  9. COOLER MASTER GX 650W PSU Single +12V rail 52A 80+
COOLER MASTER 700W eXtreme Power Plus SLI Silent 12CM Fan
COOLER MASTER GX 550W PSU Single +12V rail for up to 52A 80PLUS
    CORSAIR 650W TX-650v2 ATX PSU 80PLUS Bronze
  10. I was thinking of getting the 700w eXtreme but it seemed too cheap and didnt have that 80+ efficiency thing so i leaned more towards the GX 650W?
