Hi everyone,

I'm really excited for diablo 3 to come out. I played the beta last weekend and it was amazing. however my computer performance...was not (averaging about 15 fps on low settings). I want to upgrade my video card and power supply.

This is the computer I have:

These are the components I was considering:
GPU
ASUS EAH6770/DI/1GD5 Radeon HD 6770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

PSU
CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Are they compatible, and will it run diablo 3 well?

thank you for your time

Hello, The computer in your link uses integrated graphics. To use a 6770 the motherboard must have a pci 8x slot at least. you can open up the door on your case and look for it, if it has one then it is compatible. Also could you specify the resolution you will be running diablo 3 at, i can't tell you if diablo 3 will run smoothley without this information. Incase you don't know what to look for i will include a link of a labeled motherboard. The slot you are looking for is labeled PCIe 16x slot.

I hope this helps.

@ dhorkas Im pretty sure it has a pci express slot, what version im not sure. I haven't had a chance to open the case yet. I believe the resolution was either 1280x720 or 1360x768.

@megaman How much better is the 6850 vs. the 6770? Corsair has a 500w psu as well, i just got the larger one because it was only 10 bucks more in case i decided to add anything more in the future.

I would get a corsair 430W which can handle the 6770, 6850 and 7850. But if you decide to get a 6870, 560Ti or the 7870 you have to get the 500W corsair.

Here is a quite accurate power supply watt calculator.

In my opinion I would go for the 6850. Here is how some of them perform (they haven't put a 6770 in for 2012 charts so I chose the 6790 which is just a bit better).

As for the compatibility with your computer, I know for a fact that it will work because my first gaming computer was an HP I upgraded. I did check the specs of your motherboard just in case though and it has a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot which will be fine.
