As a matter of fact if it had been in either the phone or the blue tooth add
in manual I wouldn't have bothered to ask. Wake up and smell the roses.

Page 123 chapter 5
5. Pairing (if not required by the other device, go to step 6.)
• If the other device requires pairing before data can be transmitted,
a tone sounds and you are asked to enter a passcode.
• Create your own passcode (1-16 characters long, numeric) and agree
with the owner of the other device to use the same code. This passcode
is used only once and you do not have to memorise it.
• After pairing, the device is saved to the Paired devices view.
6. When the connection has been successfully established, the note
Sending data is shown.
now wake up and read the manual

Well here is the funny thing. In my version of book there is no page 123,
and the all important paragraph is missing :
Create your own passcode (1-16 characters long, numeric) and agree

The Australian version just states "enter the bluetooth password", hense my
confusion.
So lets all smell the roses and get on with our all too short lives
