Please help! Thanks very much in advance

Well, I built my computer. I tried turning the power on, and absolutely nothing happened. I didn't hear any noise, I didn't see any lights etc. The power supply I'm using (I'm in the UK) was bought off of Amazon UK, and had a two circular/rounded prong plug. This was unexpected, and doesn't fit UK plugs, so I used an adaptor which is fused. Is that likely the problem?

Every part seems to be in place, I have tried to find missing links etc and nothing seems to have been forgotten. I have listed the specs below,

CPU : Intel i5-2500k
Fan : CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO
Mobo : Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3
GPU : Sapphire HD7850 860mhz
Solid State : A-DATA 120gb SATAIII
Hard Drive : 1TB Seagate Barracuda 5900rpm
RAM : Corsair 8gb 1600mhz (1.5v) (2x4gb)
PSU : XFX 550W Core Pro Edition
Case : Antec Three Hundred Two
DVD : Liteon iHAS124 24x

Get a different psu with the correct plug, buy a Seasonic or Enermax while you're at it.

did you use the standoffs for the motherboard? Make sure those are screwed in an no wires stuck in between.
