Alright, I bought a prebuilt computer through Ibuypower it has FX4100s, ASUS M5A97, X2 Power Color AX6790 w/ Crossfire, X2 2GB RAM DDR3, and a Corsair 750W PSU. Now the issue I've been having is definitely something with software compatibility relations. When I boot Windows with Crossfire bridge attached, if I was to open a program that would require the GPUs to spin up, say Solitaire. I will get a blue screen full of lines, or Windows Media Player a Black screen full of lines.

I've messed around rolling back to older drivers with no such luck. Finally, I disconnected the Crossfire bridge, I tested each individual GPU, both can run programs just fine. Any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong/missing and why Crossfire is rejecting itself on my PC?

*Edit* Windows 7 x64 OS

Have you tried both cards in the same slots with out the bridge connecting them. In other words you put the first card in the x 16 slot and the second card in the x 8 slot hook the first card to the monitor.

Boot the system which you have done that. Now turn off your rig. Now hook up the monitor two your second card then boot up the system while the first card is still in the first slot.

And see if there is a problem with that slot and do not hook the bridge on at all. If there isn't a problem then I would say it is the bridge or there is something you need to do in your CCC or bios.

Here are a couple links to help. I hope this helps and good luck to you I hope you find the problem.

Today i tried to run Skyrim only using the top card and as soon as I started the .exe the screen went . It also did this when i was dragging the scroll pad in notepad. I'm not sure what to think with the issue now. Any suggestions or ideas?

Try rolling your drivers back to an older version and see if that helps any. Any of your games run through Steam? Use a driver sweeper and clean all the drivers out then do a clean install on the old or new driver.

What I mean on Clean install is when you are installing the driver you will come to choice normal/quick install recommened or something like that or Custom. Click on Custom then click on Clean install.

I will link you to some driver sweepers And I would use some other program to monitor your temps other than CCC If you need one just let me know and I will link you to them.

I currently have nothing installed except for Kaspersky, Chrome, Drivers. Regarding roll backs as well as the clean install, currently I'm using an HDMI TV and at my location I have no computer monitor available. I'm apprehensive about removing the drivers without having a standard SPDIF connection in case the HDMI cable will not recognize until drivers are installed. Any words of advice?

Hi, I think these boot issues are related to ASUS motherboards in general. Everyone reporting this type of problem has a ASUS Mobo in conjunction with powercolor products.
I could be wrong but ASUS + Powercolor seems to be the common denominator causing these issues.

If you are worried then it is best to wait and get the monitor and the SPDIF connection. Even though I don't think it will not cause any problems with it. But you need to be allright with it for your piece of mind.

If I don't feel good about something then I would be that way myself. Unless someone else knows a quick fix. When you do get what you want come back and we will work from there.
