i can game at higher resolution. max i can game at is 1280*1024

whatever resolution is your monitors "native" resolution is what you want to be running it at. If you want a bigger card hows about a 6850 or 6870 ? You don't need it but.................. whatever floats your boat....... or whatever your power supply's amperage can run and still stay within your budget.

i have narrowed my search to these two

1.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130750

2.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102968

which out of these is better???

P.S i cannot upgrade any thing else.

the gtx 460 superclocked one is better and also the evga is one of the best manufacturer of nvidia cards and even good customer support it will be better to get gtx 460 which is two series older card but it can beat two series newer cards such as hd 7770 ghz edition the gtx 460 beats it in many things such as gaming going for an gtx 460 will be an good move.:)

review.

yes it is better then both of them in performance looking to the price the hd 7770 uses very less power but priced high gtx 460 is good one but it wouldbe riskier to overclock on your psu and the sapphire hd 6850 uses less power and even it is in less price in your butget and suitable for your psu.

sapphire hd 6850 is the way to go.:)

goodluck.:)

xfx:- good built, customer support, doesnt stay that cool but ok,not quiter, good in performance.:)

i am going to buy this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-130-750&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=3#scrollFullInfo as the 6850 doesnt have good review on newegg both xfx and sapphire......

most of the people in toms hardware are using sapphire hd 6850 and they dont have any problem with it.:)\\

if u decided to getting that card then fine but no overclocks it will be riskier because that psu is not that good but it can handle that card with no overclock.:)

Again, sunnk is right. :) No overclocking.Plus, how old is your PSU?I purchased mine in august last year and it has given me no problems till now but you never know.Plus, the GTX 460 you listed uses two power connectors and the sapphire hd 6850 uses only one.Make sure you have two 6-pin connectors on your PSU(mine has only one). :)

so i should get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130749 this instead of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130750???? due to my 460w xtreme cooler master power supply??
