Graphics Card Issue - XFX 7850

Hey all, I have an interesting problem for you!

I created my first ever homebuilt PC today, and it is working :love:

HOWEVER. I have graphics issues *sigh* . I am using an XFX Double Dissipation HD 7850. The computer wasn't recognizing it's presence initially, yet after running the AMD drivers, it finally recognized present of a HD 7800 Series (nothing more specific than that). Is that normal?

The next problem is, that when running 1920 x 1080, which is my monitors resolution, it doesn't fill the entire monitor? Even when choosing automatic resolution etc, it just doesn't fill the screen! I am using HDMI connection, and have never had this problem with this monitor before.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance TkTk :cry:

  1. It recognized it as an HD 7800 series because that's essentially what it is.

    The problem with HDMI is common, you mean the black borders correct?

    I'm assuming changing adaptor to the monitor will fix things?

    That's a AMD driver issue; simply fixed by doing the following;

    Catalyst Control Center ==> My Digital Flat-Panels ==> Scaling Options ==> increase the over scan until it covers the whole screen.

    Happy Gaming!

    Coffee~
