Hello, :hello:

I am having a wireless connection problem with my compaq F572US laptop which is 5 yrs old. So, here is the situations(s):

1. Upon booting up, I get a report that I do have wireless and local intranet. I use a WG111v3 Netgear usb adapter cause my internal one quit.
When I try to sign onto a browser (aol, firefox etc,) then the connection drops out!
Yesterday, I was able to get all my security updates and some windows updates so this adapter must be working part time any, eh??

2. My dsl does not recognise the wired ethernet cable port anymore and I have disconnected it and plugged the cable into a old system and the cable does
work. So, would my port have damage and if so, any way to repair it?

3. I am using a Linksys E3000 wireless-N Router and run a iPod and used to run this old laptop I am have a situation with off of it so don't think that is the
problem, though maybe it is because, I did have a WRT54G2 running and just changed cause I wanted to get a bit more distance outside.

4. Laptop is 4 ft away from the router.

I do appreciate anyone giving me some help.
