Which graphics card is better. I am trying to build a gaming PC that can run Skyrim,Batman Arkham City, Battlefield 3 and many other high-end games smoothly on decent settings. I'm looking for a graphics card around $250. Price cant be higher than $300. Give me some advice and opinions below. I'm really stuck between the two graphics cards!

Also since the 7750 is cheaper would buying two be better than getting the cards above?

Yep. Also, it uses less power.

i would go for the 7850 since it has 2gb of vram vs the 560 ti 1gb. which well make a big difference in battlefield 3, but if you want the physx feature for arkham city then take the 560 ti

Does Arkham City look terrible without Physx. If it still looks good then i'm strongly going to consider the 7850

As you can see from the benchmark, even for Batman, the 7850 is better.

Could somebody link me to the best 7850 or just any that they would recommend?

I have a Sapphire Radeon GPU and it OCs real well. I can't even hear the fans!

In my opinion Nvidia > AMD even if the AMD card is faster and cheaper. Thats just my opinion based on my experience. Don't let me stop you from getting an AMD card though.

Noob to OC'ing. Is it easy or hard?
April 29, 2012 12:25:56 AM

Shoud i get the Sapphire 7850 thats already OC'ed or do it myself to just the regular one
April 29, 2012 12:26:26 AM

Ocing is just a matter of upping the clock speed and trial and error. If it BSODs, just restart and lower the clock speed.

no it doesn't look bad at all on 7850, to me personally the physx feature is gimmicky and only a selected few game truly use it. you you want a video showing the difference with physx on and off here.

Get the Sapphire 1000 MHz edition.

So you're suggesting a 560ti yet showing a benchmark where clearly the 7850 is a better card? Lol?
April 29, 2012 12:34:08 AM

Smart to buy the Sapphire HD 7850 or the Sapphire HD 7850 OC
April 29, 2012 12:36:53 AM

OC edition for $10 more is worth the $.

From what he posted, he plays BF3, am I wrong? BF3 performs better on GTx 560 Ti so with 2GB it should do a bit better, am I still wrong or what? With 2GB of Vram for high end games, the GTx 560Ti should get at least few-10 FPS higher... BF3 uses more than 1.5GB so since the 560Ti they tested only have 1GB than it means that you can gain more FPS from more vRAM...

My 7850 (MSI) is overclocker to 1180 Mhz (37% increase). Im getting better results than 570 in most benchmarks

Even if you do get that in benchmark, you cant beat a OC GTx 560Ti at BF3 with 2GB... BF3 feature more of Nvidia video card than Radeon...

Who cares about 2 fps more in one game when the 7850 crush the 560 ti in all other games. I play BF3 at 1080p ultra 4 msaa no prob. Unless you are using multi monitor you wont see the different xcept on your electricity bill ;)

Depends on what games though... you can just play a million game and say your 7850 is better, it depend on what the person is playing, if all he play is just BF3 mostly than GTx 560Ti 2GB is a better choice...

I never see any drop in performance. I might be cpu botlenecked because I have a phenom ii X3 oc to 3.8 but my FPS never drops below 40 in multiplayer.

At the end of the day it's a matter of preference, I'd personally go with the Radeon HD 7850 because it performs slightly better and uses less power, but if PhysX and better driver support is what you seek, the GTX 560 Ti is a fine GPU. There is no wrong answer here.

EDIT: You know where my money went based on my sig, but I'm a hardware design geek and couldn't resist playing with the new GCN architecture.

Look at the benchmark results you yourself linked LegendKiller... In EVERY SINGLE OF THEM, the 7850 beats the GTX 560ti by a HUGE margin. I think you're trolling with that link.

Most of those are high end gaming so you of course need more than 1GB vRAM... BF3 ran higher because it likes Nvidia better than Radeon... BF3 is meant for Nvidia...
April 29, 2012 9:52:20 AM

Then how is it when I compared my 7950 to a GTX 580 of my friend, my fps was 10 higher?
September 13, 2012 10:26:24 PM

I'm facing this decision right now (my 8800gtx died). I don't play BF3, I play Skyrim. So what's my verdict? 560Ti 2gb or 7850?

GTx 560Ti is kind of weak right now, The reason 7950 is better because it's newer... Newer is always better in most cases... Radeon 7850 is better because of 28nm, I'd get the GTX 660Ti or 660 for later SLI...
