Hello fellas,
I have a question but, let me start by sharing my computer specs.
Intel Q9400 2.66ghz
XFX 750i Sli
GTX 460SE
4GB RAM DDR2 800
500W PSU
80GB SSD
1.5 TB WD HDD
I've been trying to figure out why I'm getting such a low performance with my processor.
for example: I've gone down to playing MW3 (a really low end demand) and we all know my PC can wreck it with those specs but, somehow I can drop down to 40FPS at certain points which shows that my CPU has some kind of issue.
so... it took me weeks to figure it out but, I did and I removed 2GB out of the 6GB that I did have and my speed jumped by 20%.
now the performance is much higher but, cannot hold 60FPS or higher consistently which is bullshit. I know my pc is getting strangled somewhere... I noticed if I put a 600w PSU inside, the strength of the system is increased maybe 10%-15%.
So I tried to overclock it.
here's the bullshit.
I have a CPU that is 8x multiplier ok? I increase the power to 1.250v and the FSB up to 1390. What increase do I get from that you ask?
2.78ghz from 2.66ghz normal. There is something wrong... can some professional point out a mistake i've made?
