As the title suggestes, I want to see a benchmark comparing the 8150 @ 4.0ghz to the stock speed 8350 @ 4.0ghz.

Does anyone have a link to that ? I tried to find one but couldnt, thanks! :)

It never is when you're talking just one generational leap. Its true for Intel as well. Upgrading from Sandy Bridge i5 to Ivy Bridge i5 isn't worth it. Computer advances are done in baby steps, very rarely great leaps. Video cards are the same way.

Yea i have an fx-8120 and looking at the benchmarks then im thinking of actually going over to fx-8350 aswell.
looks like a huge performance boost + OC -ing it even more can give some pleasing results over the fx-8120 :p

any opinions on that ?

Oh defo in agreement there, I always said I would not upgrade my 1100t until AMD released a CPU that was as good as a 2500k, and the FX 8350 is apparently so time to go for it, especially as I can still get good money for my 1100t.

I would make the move.
Bulldozer fails so hard and Piledriver is what Bulldozer should have been.

the entire line-up overall I figure is the same performance level as between the 1st Gen Core (Nehahlem) i3/i5/i7 CPU's
but not quite matching the 2nd Gen (SB) in performance.
a selected few benchmarks really doesn't tell the entire pic.
I call it a step in the right direction considering..... :/

sell your current chip to minimize expenses and make the move to Vishera.
my opinions..

When I upgrade my board I think I'm going to step up to the 8350 when I can afford it. It'd be awesome to have so much extra CPU power. My 945 still does good work in my ancient AM2+ board though so I'm not sure how long it'll be before I decide to drop the money to upgrade it.

you might be surprised with that.

now you got me curious...
hurry-up.!
