I have a motherboard (Tyan S2462) with only PCI-X slots. Tyan UK says the slots are all on one channel. Tyan US says they're all on seperate channels. The board manual doesn't specify. I'm mixing PCI-X and PCI 32-bit cards. I want to make sure the 32-bit cards aren't dragging down the entire bus speed. Is there any software which can tell me if the slots are on seperate channels, and/or what speed the cards are running at?

I think that they are together simply because PCI-X is just a PCI slot with a bus extension added on. So I think it's partially shared. I would use them mixed anyways and if you notice a performance issue try eliminating the 32bit cards from the loop. It should not make a huge difference as it is adding another 32bit channel onto the already used 32bit channel. This is for cards that can use the full 64 bits (32 bit+32 bit). So in summary it should not degrade the performance anymore than adding another 32bit card onto the bus anyways.
