So, if it is alright for me to ask, I would like to know if this computer build would work well. This will be my first time building my own computer from scratch, and though I'm quite excited and want to get started, I want to confirm that everything will work well together, and that if there would be any better replacements and such for certain parts.

This system will be used for everything I need as well. I'm a heavy gamer, and I do a lot of work and multitasking. Also video editing and such.

As a side note, I am around 100$ under my budget, and I am willing to go up that much for certain parts if need be.

Intel i5 2400 Sandy Bridge

AMD Radeon HD 7750 1GB

8g of ram

Evercool Aluminum Heatsinks

550 Watt Power Supply

USB 3.0 PCI Interface Card 2 ports

Cooler Master Elite 430

Samsung 22x DVD Burner SATA Model

Gigabyte Intel Z68 ATX DDR3 2133 LGA 1155 Motherboard GA-Z68A-D3H-B3

Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue SATA 3

More about : alright build work

Looks good enough to me, but only a couple concerns. I'm assuming with the RAM it is DDR3, and clocked at 1333MHz+. You didnt mention this, so I'm just making sure. As if your RAM is lower than this, it could affect performance. And if you are $100 under budget, you may as well upgrade that 7750 to a 7770, or like a 7850. You'd get much better frames in-game on higher settings if you did so. Hope this helped! :)

Yes I'm sorry. The exact ram is,

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)

And I might just get a better video card. We will have to see. But the one I picked out for now is a good decent one yes?

Yea, the RAM looks good :p  And the one you picked out is decent, but if you want to do "heavy" gaming as you say, you might want to upgrade the GPU. As a reference point, this one will only be able to run BF3 at around Medium settings. So if you wanted to max out the game on Ultra, you'd need to get an upgrade.

Yea, a Radeon 7770 or a Radeon 7850 would probably work nice :p  Depending on how much more your willing to spend..
