Phenom II 975 Black -vs- i5 2300

I've seen a lot debate here on these two. I have 2 nearly identical systems to choose from. This will be mainly a gaming PC. So here they are, which one is the most bang for the buck?

Also the Phenom II that you linked does not have a CPU cooler in the box, you only get the processor. So either add on the extra money for the cooler or get one that's not OEM.
  2. no contest i5 2300 wins. unless you want to invest a lot in a liquid cooling system and OC the crap out of the AMD chip, then you just trade benchmarks with the i5

note: the 6870 is a better GPU so the FPS in would be really close between the 2 systems
