Im looking to upgrade my cpu if its possible with my price range. I've been checking out the 8350 but I'm unsure if the upgrade is worth $200.
Pc Specs:
Win 7 64-bit
AMD FX-6100
8gb Corsair Vengence ram
Radeon 7770 HD Ghz Ghost Edition
Asus M5A97 R2.0
220 gb HDD

Im only looking to spend $150-175 Maybe a little more if it would be worth the upgrade from my cpu. I play a lot of games.
So any suggestions on a cpu upgrade that would fit my uses? Thanks in advanced!

Considering you already have an FX-6100, I wouldn't recommend the FX-6300. I would seriously consider the FX-83XX (8320 is a nice option) and OC the snot out of it. According to this review, it's a very decent CPU once overclocked :)

Depends what you are doing. If you are a HEAVY multitasker and render videos and such, then go with the 8350.

If your just a gamer, while doing little photoshop and stuff like that, get the i5-3570k or non k, if you don't want to over clock.

OP's budget is $200 tops. i5 3570(k) is out of his budget range.

Not to mention he'd have to get another motherboard too, if he went with an Intel CPU. That would surely blow his budget.

Would it be worth it to buy the 8350 if all i do is games and the only multitasking i do would be burning a movie or cd while playing a game? OR would it be best performance-wise to save my money save until i have enough for a intel cpu+mobo? if it is best to wait and get intel, does anyone have any suggestions on them? I appreciate the responses so far guys, thanks!

Edit: I know i kinda asked the same thing twice but I couldn't think of how to word it without asking it again. Sorry :)  :(

If you're getting performance you're happy with inside games, the wise thing to do would be to save your money. Unless you really want to burn ~$200 for a 5-15% performance increase, best save it ;)
