Need desperate help

Hi all I am currently building my first of and following this guide http://www.buildacomputerguide.com/connect-power-supply.... I got to the quick power test and nothing happens with my counter or monitor. This is my setup

In the last section where u connect ur power supply it says there might be a small connected along with the huge connecter? I am hoping that is my problem :$

Are you talking about the 24-pin power connector and the 8-pin voltage connector? If you plug those into the appropriate places on your motherboard it should light up. If it doesn't - either there's something wrong with your PSU or your case headers aren't properly connected.

I connected them both and nothing lights up no fans do anything it's like a rock doesn't do anything. What are your suggestions that I do?

Is the PSU switch turned on in the back? If it is you might want to think about RMA'ing your PSU.

On the 3rd time reconnecting all the cords and wires it started :D  I'm now installing windows. I just wanted to say a big thank you to toms hardware forums I now am addicted to see people's new builds and hopefully now helping people out. Thank you guys once again
