New to Graphics Cards

Hey Community,

I'm building a new machine and am on my last part, the graphics card. I know that I want a Nvidia from eVGA. I've been trying to do some research but I'm just not that equipped (knowledge wise) to make a solid purchase.

With that said, I can't afford the 680 or the 690

I was looking at this card

After the MIR it's just under $200.00

My question is, is this a solid investment that will play games like BF3/Diablo 3/Batman and the latest titles?

I'm not looking for SLI and before I drop $200.00 I wanted the opinions of people that know what they're talking about!

Hope you can all help me!

If there is something that you think is better for the money I am willing to maybe go to $240-250 max if it's a considerable difference in performance. Thanks!

How's your case's cooling? if it has good air-flow, a 480 will be the fastest card you can get for ~$200

It's old tech, but it's the best of the 4** generation, and is on par with the more expensive GTX570. downside's it runs a bit hot, hence why I asked about cooling

480 should do fine. that case's almost a wind-tunnel

Shows the 480 is the best single $200 card; however, dual 6850 will will be just a bit more and you get newer tech. check it out

But just like u run the risk when running a hot card, cf doesnt run better on everything.
