Step up to a 680 or 690?

I bought an evga 580 classified ultra and have till june 2 to do the step up program. should i just do a 680 sc or pay 450 extra for the 690?

Anyone who pays $1000 for a gpu is on crack.If you are at 1080p just keep what you got.

ya 1000 is mind boggling. I dont understand why they priced it so high when u can just go with sli when prices drop. I can upgrade to the evga sc signature edition gpu and its pretty much free. I paid $550 and that card is 550.

the 690 is better than 2680s stock bcz the former is better in acoustics,noise,performance..etc
morever a single gpu is always better than 2..do u agree? as for price cosidering the new shroud and the performance 1000$ is justified..
but if u ask me a anything btw 850 to 900 would have been gud..although two 680 s will definitely cost more than 900$..read the recent article in toms about 690 here is the link

The 690's are two cards they run just like 2 cards.If sli isnt supported it will run like a stock 680.The main reason id rather have 2 680's instead of one 690 is mostly because you have a backup card if one dies and you are not put out of commision waiting for a refurb.I am also pretty sure that the 2 680's in sli will be alittle faster then the 690.Could be wrong though.

yeah u are right overclocked 680 will work a little bit faster than a stock 690 but the overclocked 680s may come in around shy of 430w while 690 comes at 300w max..plus the shroud of 690 is definitely better than 680 acc to ,me so there will be less heat and sound... do u agree?
