Honestly does anyone know what's out there and how it works? Not even intel does lol! It's really weird how things are. For rendering on vray. What is better solution for fast rendering, i've tried searching for benchmarks and i couldn't find the specific ones i need, so please if you're not sure of your answer don't confuse me even more.. Benchmark scores in charts on the net are not helping in my case, some CPUs have high scores but render same or slower then others with lower score. So i posted earlier in pre-build forum now i have new info.. Choices are three, a system with core i7 3930k (it's a bit slower then 3960x but half price so not going for the extreme cpu) or double xeon e5-2670 (and unlike the charts say a single xeon 2670 renders a bit slower then a 3930k...) or double xeon e5 1660 which i've seen no one considering them for workstations when they are 3.30Ghz.. I couldnt find benchmarks comparing those cpus... And intel has no answer.. so does anyone know? After knowing performance i can take price into consideration and of course cooling...

You do understand that a video card will render much faster than a processor, right? I would think you would want to get a great video card and not worry as much about the processor.

No! gpu rendering is not a good solution for the time being, it's just for preview, my question is clear...

Well good luck, everyone has moved to GPU processing for rendering.
