Fire Wire is pointless and im pretty sure alot of makers offer them for some reason alot

Some manufacturers offer it, but note that it is an easy upgrade to do yourself. A FireWire PCI card can be had for $30 or less and it only takes a couple of minutes to pop it in a desktop. Some manufacturers will install this for you (e.g., you can order some HP desktops with a firewire card installed).

Unless you have some specific piece of hardware for which you'd like to use the firewire interface, you might do just as well or better to look for USB3 ports (or perhaps eSATA).

Firewire isn't pointless. I have a Video camcorder thats only output is a firewire. I use a fire wire to usb adapter.

I have several HPs with firewire.
