Hello,

What are the specifications of your specific Dell Inspiron 530 Series model?

What is the CPU model?

How much Memory is currently installed?

What Operating System is currently being used?

Your son is right about the Intel integrated graphics being totally unusable for Crysis 2.

What is your upgrade budget amount if you should decide to do the upgrade?

You will need a discrete graphics card and a new power supply unit for the upgrade.

What resolution are you playing at ? what kind of quality are you expecting, What do you consider a playable frame rate ?

I found it playable (1 player) on a 5770 with reasonably high settings

His motherboard is probably this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Motherboard-Inspiron-Systems...
It says in the specs that he has a pci-e 2.0 x16 slot.

So basically, if that is your motherboard, then yes, you can upgrade your video card.

EDIT: You have a pci-e 1.0 x16 slot. Still, there is no problem since pci-e x16 2.0 cards are compatible with pci-e 1.0 x16 slots.
