Hello, i am running Vista Home & can't use sleep mode as the monitor won't come out of it. What i would like fixed is having the monitor come out of sleep mode, the computer does but the monitor won't, no matter what key you hit or even using the mouse. Is there a fix so i can use sleep mode? I don't like having to leave the computer all the time because i leave windows open that i want to come back to later. Thanks.
It has to do with the type of Sleep modes enabled in the bios my friend.
In other words the mode is not set right in one of the bios options/ normal found in the power section of the bios menu. wakeup settings and sleep mode S0,S1, S2, S3, S4
You can do a google of what each mode does.
For example I use S1 and S3 mode. It allows my computer to completely shut down all fans, cut power to all drives, and set the cpu into a very low power state but and keeps the ram powered to hold all current things held in the memory. Even the fan on the PSU is turned off.
One press of the power button brings it back to life faster than a cold boot.
Some boards don`t support all sleep mode functions depends how old the board is most new ones support all four or five modes. In any case you will find a change of the sleep mode in the bios will sort it all out.
Here check the link out on what each of the Sleep modes do in the bios to save you a google
If you get stuck just post and I will run you through it in simple point steps.
Easy as I can make it Lonewolf83 ok. If you take the time to look at the link and the S modes you should get a grasp of it have a good look at the picture in the link at the top of the page then you will know what to look for ok.
