Do you think there's much of a difference?

Hello to all!
I want to buy a Sound Card, but I'm not sure that I will see a big difference.
My onboard audio is VIA VT1708s, that I'm not very proud of.
I want to buy a Asus Xonar DSX or DGX and I would like to know which one is better and if there's a big difference between my onboard and these dedicated audio cards.

Due to the subjective nature of this question, you'll find that you'll get a better response if you provide more info, such as:

1. What are you using the computer for? (Gaming, audio composition, etc.)

2. What kind of speaker system, if any, are you using? (2.1, 3.1, etc)

Generally speaking, integrated audio is actually pretty good; however, if you're not pleased with the sound quality, then you have no choice but to install a sound card. That said, perhaps this review can help you make your own judgment:

Thanks for the reply.
I have a 5.1 sistem from Logitech.
I will use the audio card mostly for music(auditions).
I would also like to see and improvement in gaming, but that doesn't matter too much.
So in the end, do you think that VT1708S is good? I've seen in that review that they are comparing the Xonar's cards with the ALC898 codec, that I think is much better that my VIA codec. What do you think?
