(my question below specs) Right now I have a nice setup and all but a little outdated so I will be upgrading my mobo, CPU, gpu soon.

My current specs are:
Intel Core i7 920
6.00 GB Triple-Channel DDR3 (don't remember what speed...)
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P6T DELUXE V2 (LGA1366)
ATI Radeon HD 5870 I believe

Upgrading to these specs:
i7 3770k
EVGA GeForce GTX 680 SuperClocked
Gigabyte Intel Z77 DS3H w/LGA 1155 Dual UEFI BIOS

Should I look into getting a better mobo? The gigabyte ds3h goes for about $110 but the only reason I want that one is because it is nicely compatible with hackintosh. I may be overclocking these things so if you think there is a better z77 mobo that would be worth it please out it in a reply.

Also is there anything else I should know or any other recommendations?

Thank you!

What psu brand & wattage you have?

The ASRock Extreme 4 lga 1155 mobo is a huge hit.

Also unless you're into the i7for hyper threading just go with the i5 3570k ivy bridge.

My personal preference for RAM would be dual or quad channel, check out Mushkin brand RAM, good stuff.

I'm pretty sure my wattage is 750. Out of curiosity, how many watts does the gtx 680 need?

That mobo looks good, and I heard asrocks are easy to oc.

How important is hyper threading and is that the only difference between 3770k and 3570k?

Thanks for all the help!

Hyperthreading is usually not used in games at all. its usually used for professional work and encoding/rendering. very few games actually utilize hyperthreading well(BF:BC2, BF3 neutered hyperthreading)
